A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I teach, go to live theatre, read fiction and watch Netflix.

2. Why do you make art?

Because I cannot not make art, which is the criteria I tell students for deciding to be an artist.

3. What inspires you?

The expressive power of color and light.

4. What/who are your influences?

Edouard Vuillard, Edgar Degas, Johannes Vermeer as artists. Haruki Murakami, J.D. Salinger, Marilynne Robinson as authors. My latest inspiration is the TV series “Rectify” on Netflix.

My husband’s grandfather.
